I'm even more lucky than that black cat I ran over

Most people worry about gaining weight over Thanksgiving, but I've lost almost four pounds since this time last week! Unbelievable considering I more or less shirked most of my exercise routine during this time and pigged out on an innumerable amount of sugary good stuff. It's amazing how much weight I had gained before I began this weight loss scheme. My body mass index still sits above the recommended amount despite twenty-five pounds being removed from my flabby frame. At this point I only need to lose another ten pounds and my BMI will be right where it belongs.

However, that's not even the luckiest part of my week. Several weeks of procrastination left me scrambling to start two major projects for school. One was due today (Tuesday) and another was due Thursday. Needless to say, sleep was going to pushed back on my list of priorities. So I was very happy to see that the project due on Tuesday had been delayed until next week, leaving me to concentrate on Thursday's project. Now I've just learned that that project isn't due until Saturday! Now I can budget my time much more effectively (the most effective way to budget my time would've been to finish them earlier, but let's ignore that). Unfortunately I still have to actually do the projects, so ultimately I'm very lucky, but not as lucky as I'd like to be.

A little peak into my mysterious world.

Sorry, I know it's been awhile, but I've been busy. OK, not really, but there was nothing of value worth reporting until now. Besides, this isn't my only blog. Oh my god, have I said too much? Please don't think I've been posting and commenting with other bloggers behind your back. I never meant to hurt you. Really!

In all seriousness, since I was home for Thanksgiving I took the opportunity to capture a few photos of my wonderful family, as well as a few memorable places from my childhood.

That's my cousin LJ clowning around with his newborn nephew, Decarlos Jr. A really quiet and utterly adorable addition to the family.

That's my 7-year-old cousin 3J. Friendly and cheerful, he loves to be the center of attention and can't resist a chance to be in a picture. But he takes good ones, so who am I to criticize.

That's LJ playing some game with my younger brother, Andre. 70% of my time was spent doing the exact same thing with lil bro, with me insisting on squeezing as most Street Fighter in there as possible.

This is the trailer that my grandmother and grandfather lived in for much of my childhood. It might not look like much right now, but when I was a kid I loved it, especially in the summer, since it's the nearest place that had air conditioning.

That's my great-grandmother and great-grandfather's home. It's right next to the trailer in the previous photo. Both places are within walking distance from the house I grew up in, as in five-minutes-walking-distance. Inexplicably, I failed to take a picture of the house I grew up in while I was home. I was fortunate to have so much of my family in such close proximity to me as a child.

That's me with my dad. I don't know why I look so mad, it must be the sun in my eyes or something. I still like the photo though.

From left to right, this is my cousin Orion being held by his father Kermit III, my great-grandmother, me, my great-grandfather, my dad, and my grandfather. There was some confusion with the camera, but overall a good picture and a rare chance to see us all together. And for my final picture...

A kitty!

Obviously, this isn't exactly a full peak into where I came from. For one thing, most of my mom's family isn't in this post, which is ironic since I ate Thanksgiving dinner with them. I also fail to document the migrant workers which we keep locked in our basement for organ harvesting purposes. But that'll have to wait for another day. Later!
